About ImBalance
What is ImBalance?
ImBalance is a consultancy firm and a digital wellbeing platform that supports organisations in enhancing wellbeing at individual, team, and organisational levels.
We combine data, human insight, and actionable steps. Our Pulse Platform collects anonymous wellbeing data through questionnaires, provides employees with insight into their own wellbeing, and enables leaders to act early on signs of declining wellbeing.
We are a consultancy that supports organisations through workshops, conversations, facilitation, and practical tools that make wellbeing tangible in everyday work.
ImBalance is not just another questionnaire. We are a partnership that offers a shared language for wellbeing and a place where honest insights lead to genuine change.
What is the purpose of the Pulse Platform?
The Pulse Platform provides both personal and organisational wellbeing assessments, used by individuals and organisations to support their wellbeing initiatives.
It includes ImBalance questionnaires, sector-specific Workplace Assessments (in Danish: APVs), and reports at both individual and organisational levels.
Pulse functions as a digital ecosystem, creating a secure and integrated system for wellbeing measurement. Through the platform, employees complete anonymous questionnaires, which are then compiled into reports accessible to both employees and managers.
We develop templates and frameworks based on ImBalance’s methodology and professional approach to wellbeing. From there, questionnaires are administered, departments are created, and notifications are sent to users, team leaders, HR, and employees.
At the Pulse Platform, we also work systematically with data security and GDPR compliance. Our templates follow Danish standards alongside our own methodology.
It’s not just about legal compliance, it’s about protecting users’ sense of security and focusing on the areas that truly matter. Data handling and anonymity are built into our process from the start, ensuring employees can respond honestly and organisations receive reliable insights.
Why do you focus on preventing poor wellbeing rather than combating stress?
We believe that trying to eliminate the negative or difficult periods in life is an unrealistic goal. Instead, our ambition is to promote healthy learning and a realistic everyday routine.
We believe it is important to acknowledge, process, and reflect on challenging times. It is during these moments that we grow stronger and make adjustments that allow meaningful life changes to occur. Stress is a natural survival response. Today it often arises as a reaction to expectations and demands. Stress can therefore be both a mental burden and a productive driving force.
This is why we do not aim to “fight” stress. We believe that everyone should learn to distinguish between the “healthy, motivating” stress and the unhealthy stress. The same applies to all experiences that may feel negative: we need to understand them, not suppress them.
We aim to build resilience, both in the way we develop as individuals and in how we take collective responsibility for one another.
Our philosophy is that mistakes are a gift. There is no perfect day or perfect life, and that is a good thing. Monotony and control are not the aim. Instead, we should reflect together on our behavior and create change collectively, so that we can build a society that is more inclusive and resilient in the face of uncertainty. A place where everyone can truly be themselves.
How does ImBalance support both employees and managers?
ImBalance makes it safe and straightforward to work with wellbeing. We combine a digital platform with a tried-and-tested methodology, so both employees and managers gain insights that can be applied in practice.
For employees, ImBalance is about self-awareness and personal development. When they complete questionnaires on the Pulse Platform, they receive personalised reports showing their wellbeing over time, helping them recognise patterns in their daily lives. They own their own data, which can never be traced back to them. Anonymity is guaranteed, allowing employees to respond honestly without fear of consequences.
For managers, ImBalance is a decision-making tool. They gain an overview of organisational trends and can identify where action is needed, without compromising employee anonymity. The questionnaires are developed by us and cannot be altered by the organisation, ensuring that the data is valid, objective, and comparable. Managers therefore receive genuine insight rather than just another “temperature check” without follow-up. Data is translated into recommendations and priorities, so they know where to begin and what will have the greatest impact.
ImBalance makes wellbeing tangible: Employees gain insight into themselves, while managers gain overview and direction. The result is not just more data, but better decisions and a culture where both individuals and the organisation can thrive.
What can you expect from using ImBalance?
You gain greater self-insight, where, in addition to traditional wellbeing measurements, you also receive an overview of your own process and reflections.
Here, the individual can choose how they want to work further based on their own data and insights.
Our consultancy and coaches support this process in the physical space and in communities by bringing tools for reflection into play and helping to identify and process the challenges that arise along the way.
For the employee, this means better well-being, clearer priorities and a working day where they feel heard and taken seriously.
For the employer, this means earlier insight into dissatisfaction, fewer unexpected terminations, less sick leave and a stronger foundation for decisions based on data, not gut feelings.
Why are you called ImBalance?
We are called ImBalance because, for us, it is about living with imbalance. Not avoiding it.
We believe in movement, not the perfect, linear life. A life of contrasts: between control and chaos, calm and momentum, reflection and reaction. At ImBalance, we work with community, wellbeing, and human development as our driving forces. We know that stress, change, and pressure are not enemies, but signals. They are our inner pulse; without fluctuations, there is no life.
ImBalance is therefore both a name and a statement:
We stand at the heart of life’s fluctuations and support people and organisations in finding meaning – not balance – within them. We believe wellbeing arises when we dare to move through imbalance, together.
ImBalance – because life is not linear.

Q&A
Your profile & rights
Is my data secured?
Yes. Your data are stored in a cloud system, Microsoft Azure, which meets international standards, and we safeguard all your information so that it cannot be linked to you personally.
Can I turn off notifications?
Yes, you can do this in your profile by going to Privacy Settings.
Can I withdraw my consent?
Yes, you can do this at any time via your profile by going to Privacy Settings.
Can I delete my account or data?
Yes, you can do this at any time via your profile by going to Privacy Settings.
For employees
Are my responses anonymous?
Yes, your responses are completely anonymous to HR, managers, and the rest of the organisation. We use pseudo-anonymity, which means your answers are never directly linked to your identity (neither name, email, nor employee ID). No manager or HR staff member can see who answered what or trace any data back to you personally. Results are only shown for groups of at least six people to ensure anonymity, even in small teams.
We comply fully with GDPR requirements and handle all personal data with the highest standards of security. You can always read more in our Privacy Policy.
Who can see my responses?
Only you can see how you have answered each individual question. Your organisation can only view a report at the department level, not individual responses (each department must have at least six employees).
You can withdraw your consent at any time, after which your data will no longer be processed.
How do I log in for the first time?
You will receive an e-mail from our platform inviting you to log in. The e-mail will be sent to your work address, and the link will be valid for 24 hours. We recommend saving the Pulse link after logging in, either as a bookmark in your browser or on your desktop.
How often should I complete the questionnaires?
Each questionnaire has a set frequency, which may be weekly, monthly, or quarterly, depending on what your organisation wishes to examine and what ImBalance’s methodology determines is best for you.
You will automatically receive an email whenever a questionnaire is ready and awaiting your response. We provide the option to complete both personal surveys and those sent to you by your organisation. It is entirely up to you how much of each survey you choose to complete, or whether you wish to participate at all.
What do I personally gain from completing the questionnaires?
When you complete a questionnaire, you gain personal insight into your wellbeing. You receive an individual report highlighting your patterns, strengths, and areas where you may need support. You can track your progress over time and see what affects your wellbeing, both positively and negatively.
You will also have access to our resource arena, which offers practical tools, guides, and reflection exercises to support your personal development.
If you wish for additional support, our consultants can provide guidance and coaching, helping you translate your insights into action at your own pace and on your own terms.
About questionnaires and reports
What do the questionnaires measure?
The questionnaire focuses on your current well-being and how you are feeling overall. It also covers your well-being in a work context, for example your experience with colleagues or your general working conditions.
The questions may cover areas such as:
- Your mental and emotional well-being
- Your experience of tasks, expectations and work–life balance
- Relationships and collaboration with colleagues and management
- Your working conditions and the culture around you
The purpose is not to evaluate you as an employee, but to give you insight into what supports or challenges your well-being.
Can the results be used against me?
No, they cannot. No one can see how you have answered.
No data can be linked back to you, and the system is designed to protect your anonymity.
How does management use the results?
Management only sees aggregated trends from the questionnaires, typically grouped by department or team. They have access solely to anonymous, collective results. A group must consist of at least six people to be included.
What does it mean when the report shows a “high urgency level”?
It means that we assess there to be at least one area where it may be helpful for you to reflect on your well-being and consider what you can do to support it.
In these situations, ImBalance offers support, either through the tools available on the platform or by connecting you with a coach who can guide you further.
About the Pulse Platform
Do I need to install anything to use the platform?
No, you don’t. You simply need internet access on your device and the link to Pulse.
Can I use the platform on my phone?
Yes, you can. You simply need internet access on your device and the link to Pulse.
How long does it take to complete a questionnaire?
Our questionnaires vary in length, but most take less than seven minutes to complete.
We know your time is valuable, which is why we have designed them to be short and focused, allowing you to gain reflection and insight without spending unnecessary time.
Can I see my own report after each assessment?
Yes. After each submission, you automatically receive a personal report.
In the report, you can:
- See your wellbeing scores across different areas of your working life
- Identify patterns in your responses and gain insight into what influences your wellbeing
- Track your development over time and see how your choices and habits affect your balance
The report is yours alone. No managers or colleagues can see it. It serves as a mirror, helping you understand how you are doing and what you may wish to work on going forward.
What are “widgets”?
Widgets give you a simple overview of your data and can be displayed on your homepage. This allows you to easily follow the development of your results and reflect on your current wellbeing.
For HR and managers
How do I add employees and departments?
You can do this on the ‘Organisation’-page via your side menu. Here, you will find the ‘Employees’-tab. You can choose to add employees manually by clicking the ‘Add’-button or import an entire Excel file using the ‘Import’-button. We also have a full video showing you how to do this above the Q&A.
How do I send out questionnaires?
You can do this using the ‘Questionnaire Manager’ in the side menu. There, you can view all available templates and send them live to your organisation.
Can I customise the questionnaires?
You can select the templates that make sense for your organisation. At ImBalance, we recommend templates suitable for your industry, but you can adjust which ones you want to use, when sending them to departments and employees, and even stop a survey from repeating.
How do I view reports?
As an organisation, you can view your report once the survey’s repeat period has ended. This means that if you have sent a monthly survey, it will close for responses on the last day of the month, after which the report is generated automatically. The same applies to weekly or other recurring surveys.
How can I use the results to improve wellbeing in my department?
You can use the results from the very first report to assess whether there are areas in your organisation that need strengthening.
For example, it may reveal challenges with communication within a department. In such cases, you don’t have to wait several months for the next report to see that the score is already low from the start.
Of course, you can also track how the results develop over time. You are always welcome to contact us at coaching@imbalance.dk if you would like assistance interpreting your report.
Who should I contact if I need help?
You can always contact us by email. For issues with the IT system, reach out to support@imbalance.dk, and for support related to wellbeing or reports, contact coaching@imbalance.dk.
